Took a quick break from work and decided to figure out another one of my favorite Frames songs on the guitar. I also attempted to get the lyrics down as I wasn’t able to find them anywhere on the net after a few searches. You can find the song on the Falling Slowly single from back in 2006.

Swell Season Live DVD

Just noticed there’s a new DVD coming out on April 15th of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova playing at the Artists Den. Should be good stuff and it’s much cheaper than I would have expected too. Here’s the set list: Say It To Me Now, Lay Me Down, All The Way Down, This Low, When Your Mind’s Made Up, Lies, Drown Out, Falling Slowly, Golden, Pavement Tune, Once, If You Want Me, Concentric, and Star Star.

Woohoo! Not too long ago, I posted about their nominations and tonight they won an Oscar! Very happy for them and looking forward to seeing them again soon!

Oscar/Grammy Nominees?

Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova seem to have been nominated for an Oscar for the song, Falling Slowly, from the film, Once. They also got nominated for a Grammy for best sountrack album. Rarely do I find myself really rooting for someone to win, but this time I’ll definitely be watching intently.

After getting a bit of pressure via comments and emails, I finally got around to tabbing how I play the pre-chorus of Glen Hansard’s song, Falling Slowly. I’m pretty sure it’s not actually how he plays it but it should be close enough–at least it’s close enough in my book. It’s really hard for me to pick up the guitar part alone from the recordings I listened to so what I posted is as good as it’ll get from me for now. Here’s a link to the updated post. If you’ve figured out a more accurate version, please send it my way.
