Been figuring out a few of the songs on Matt Nathanson’s latest album, Modern Love. My 5-year-old daughter turns out to be a big fan of singing some of the songs and dad kind of digs ‘em too. This one’s the tab for Kiss Quick.

I’ve updated the tabs below a couple of times now as it’s become a bit of a group project with a couple of folks over at prettytheworld.com. Some of which have worked hard at getting this song figured out and a new video has shown up that really helps in confirming things. Anyway, here’s my latest version which builds on mannion14′s off PTW.

I’m digging Flyleaf’s new album ‘Remember To Live‘ quite a bit. I ended up wanting to figure out the chords to the first song off the album called ‘Justice & Mercy (Violent Love Version)’. I’m pretty sure it’s mostly right; what I’m not at all sure of are the chord names I came up with. Here’s another one off of The Swell Season album though a slightly different version is also on the Once Soundtrack. This is one of my favorite singer/songwriter type of songs from Glen and it’s one that he wrote together with Damien Rice. Since this is more of a strummy acoustic song, I’ve decided to just share how I think he plays it (from what I was able to see from my balcony view at the show a couple of nights ago) by listing out the chords up front and then laying them down on top of the lyrics. TAB: Glen Hansard – Say It To Me Now

This is the tab for the version off of the Once soundtrack album–which is significantly different from the one off the Frames’s album, Fitzcarraldo. Both are great but I definitely prefer the solo acoustic version off the soundtrack.

The Open E tuning made figuring this one out significantly harder for me (my tuning experimentation involves all of dropping down a half step and I rarely even do that) so I set off on some searches and found good starting points. Eventually, I found this great video though which turned out to pretty much dead on as far as I can tell. I still didn’t see it tabbed anywhere to this extent so I figured I’d get it down and easier to find. Also, Travestees, who made the very helpful video, has also recorded a video of himself playing the actual song which is also worth checking out.

Another song that was released both by The Frames on The Cost album and Glen Hansard’s side project called the Swell Season with Marketa Irglova. It’s fairly accurate I think though not perfect. The chords on the chorus especially are worth trying different forms of the same chords as he seems to change it up at times.

Update: Just ran across a video of Glen playing it and I actually got to see how he plays it. Updated the tab to play the open A string instead of the E string on the fifth fret. Minor but worth updating…

TAB: Staind – Everything Changes (w/ Solo)

I’ve been listening to a lot of Staind lately and it ended up making me want to play some guitar which I haven’t been doing much of lately.
