NameTag is a tiny Win32 C++ application that runs displays the computer’s name on the desktop transparently. It’s been handy for folks who have to manage many machines on a switchbox/labs/VMs/terminal server sessions. It supports customizing the font, size, and has some basic color settings as well.

Typical usage would involve copying the nametag.exe somewhere on your hard drive and adding a shortcut to it from your Startup folder so it’s launched automatically at system startup.
