On my last post, I described some of the problems I was experiencing with DRM and Windows Media Player. A friend and coworker was able to help me get past the crashes I was experiencing. The solution to that turned out to be deleting the folder that had the “Indiv01.key” file (I think, in my case, that meant emptying this folder: “C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\DRM”). That seemed to do the trick though I think he also did something to update some WMP bits too but I’m not really sure about that.

It’s great that the crashes are no longer reproducing. The last seemingly related issue though is getting the Netflix “Watch Now” feature to work. Every time I tried to watch a movie/show it would end up showing me the error in the image below.

Netflix DRM Error

I had the same friend who helped me above look into it at work by connecting to my home machine via Terminal Server. When he tried it, it worked just fine. I went home that night and found that it once again wasn’t working for me. Today, we tried it from work once again and it worked. This time though, we left it paused and when I got home I tried un-pausing it to see if it would continue playing–it did. I then decided to try another movie and it once again fell back to showing the same error.

Basically, it works perfectly over a TS session but not when I’m running it locally. I’ve tried running the “Reset DRM Utility” and that hasn’t helped at all. Anyone have any ideas?? I realize calling support is an option but I’m definitely dreading what that phone call will likely turn into–though I probably should just give it a try.
