Let's see if i can remember exactly what I did to fix it... something along the lines of:
Shut down anything that uses WMP and Windows DRM, you're creative Vision stuff, the sync app that runs in the tray, etc. Once you shut them all down... delete the DRM folder and reboot... If you're still running into issues try uninstalling (aka rollback) wmp, restarting, and then add your software back one at a time... you can contact me directly at brian dot reisman at hotmail dot com.

Alejandro, I can tell you it got fixed on my machine--so it's definitely fixable. That said, the fix was done by a friend of mine and I don't actually recall what he did. I'm pretty sure he deleted the DRM folder on my box so it started up again from scratch and I also remember him saying something about getting the correct Windows Media Player bits installed (he said I had mismatched versions). I'll see if he remembers how he actually did the last bit as I can't figure out how to uninstall Windows Media Player. I'll ask and see if he can post a comment below with more details.

I am experiencing the exact same issue, and going by your advice, I disconnected my Creative Zen Vision: M player. WMP doesn't crash anymore. Now, the moment I plug it in again and and try to run WMP, it crashes. Is there any fix for this?

The error is specific to the DRM components indiv*.key are drm license files... also of note... you're wmp components are outdated and the versions don't match up with your drm... the latest version is 11.0.6000.7000 but your wmp is reporting 6344 for the last bit of numbers... one thing you can try is to update your drm by browsing to http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp.
I'd also look at your autorun settings... do you have it set to import information, sync, or something along those lines when you plug in a removeable device? There's always XP. ;)
