The Frames - The CostIt’s been good on the new music front lately. The Frames, easily one of my favorite bands for a while now, have come out with a new album called The Cost. I picked it up today and have been listening to it non-stop since. It turns out they’re also coming to Seattle in April to play at the Showbox and that’s a show I just couldn’t miss. It’s been a while since I’ve gone out to any shows but this one’s sure to be worth heading out to.

Another one of my favorites has also released a new album as well. Black Lab has come out with Passion Leaves a Trace–it’s been five years in the making as they’ve gone through their record label troubles. The truth is I think I’ve bought at least three CDs they’ve released since their first but I immediately bought this new one even though I’m guessing I might already have many of the songs on it (I’m hoping I’m wrong though). This would be another show worth being at but it doesn’t look like it’s happening yet. I haven’t had a chance to listen to the new album yet as it’s going to take a few days to get here (Amazon doesn’t carry it at this point) but I’m really looking forward to it. You can listen to some previews of the new songs here.

One of the new songs is actually being used for the promo for one of the best TV shows around–The Shield. The sixth season isn’t too far away now but you can check out their teaser here which features the new song.
