Finally finished watching King Kong last night. It took us three days of pausing and continuing to get through it. Movies shouldn’t be that long–especially ones that could really fit in maybe thirty minutes. Some scenes seemed to never end and the first hour was pretty much as slow as it gets. Of course, effects wise, it was pretty impressive but it got a bit carried away. The only thing it left me wondering about was whether the original King Kong also had friends joining him from Jurassic Park? I looked it up and it seems like it did. I guess I really just remembered the scene at the Empire State building.

Today, we went out and watched the Da Vinci Code. I had gotten through 3/4ths of the book a while ago and it was interesting to finally see how it ends but overall it never really got going for me anywhere near as much as the book had me going. This was one rare case where the book felt more like a Hollywood action/thriller than the actual movie did. I’d definitely recommend reading the book first if you haven’t done either. The book was more exciting and made me wonder a whole lot more about things that I felt the urge to go look up to see how much some it shared with reality.
