I’ve used Movable Type for a very long time now and never really tried any alternatives (except for maybe my work blog which runs Telligent’s Community Server and actually had several features I used that MT didn’t). So, long weekend and all, I decided to try out WordPress and see what it had to offer.

So far, I haven’t done much and I’m about to call it a night. That said, I installed it on my server and migrated all my old entries from the MT version of my blog in a matter of minutes really. It’s clear the folks working on WP are working hard on making it easy to make the switch. Very nice indeed and painless so far.

The last thing I was toying with were it’s support for themes and it also seems to be pretty good so far but definitely something that requires a bit more of a time investment to find a theme that works well for what I need. It’s all pretty fun though and it looks promising. Not sure if I’m going to stick with it but I’ll definitely spend some more time on it and see where it goes.
