Okay, so I’m going to switch. It’s just too simple and everything works as it should. It’s PHP instead of Perl (which isn’t a huge difference for me but still a good thing). Everything has gone really smoothly so far and it just seems to be the way to go.
That said, switching comes with some pains. Permalinks to my old entries will eventually be broken whenever I decide to get rid of MT on this server but I will probably wait a bit before doing that. I’ll probably change my individual templates to point to the new URLs but I’m not planning on spending too much time on it. On the good side, my RSS feed will remain the same since I was using Feedburner and that makes things easy.
Lastly, I’m also going to go ahead and change my blog’s URL from http://gusperez.com/ to http://blog.gusperez.com/. I’m going to use the root URL as a base index for everything instead of it directly going to the blog.
