Landed on the Audio Lunchbox site a little while ago and I’ve found it to be pretty nice. It is a site that focuses on independent music and sells songs for 99 cents like most other music sites except that what you download are unrestricted (no DRM) 192kbps VBR MP3 files.

I started browsing through their top ten charts to see if I recognize any of the bands and was happy I did. Bob Mould (of Husker Du and Sugar) has released a new album, Flickerstick has a new album called Tarantula (which I’m listening to right now), some not so new Therapy? albums, and discovered a few bands I had never heard of before via some free MP3 downloads on the site. I can’t even begin to describe how happy I was to see this music legend. Overall, it seems to be a great way to discover new music.

It’s really nice to be able to buy and download audio files and not have to worry about any DRM hassles. It’s as if I bought the CD, ripped the songs, and now all of the songs are available on any of our machines and devices. Sweetness. I’ll definitely be visiting this site in the future.
