I’ve finally taken the time to upgrade this site to the latest version of Movable Type (3.2). It was fairly painless except for an error I was getting. Here’s the complete error message:

That’s all I got. “Got an error:” when trying to hit my mt.cgi file. I searched for it and came up with a few hits on it but all of those actually had more data than just “Got an error:” so I reread the upgrade instructions again and started playing with permissions, the old mt.cfg file, etc. Finally, I decided to reupload all of the MT files over again but this time using ascii mode for the upload instead of FileZilla’s automatic mode. This did the trick.

Everything seems to work now and I’m hoping to be able to use some of the new features in the new version to tame my comment-spam problem as much as possible. We’ll see how it goes.
