For the first time in a long while, following a great dinner at the Pink Door, we headed over to the Showbox to see a band play and it was one I’ve been looking forward to catching live for a long time now. The Frames played today and it was a great time by all. Also, my friend was lucky enough to get a two-disc set of a show Glen played acoustic on back in May of this year. Seems one of the guys on their road crew was just handing them out to random people in the audience. I saw him give out at least ten or so; a pretty nice thing to do on their part. Haven’t heard the whole thing yet but it’s some good stuff. Looking forward to it…
In other news, I was pleasantly surprised today with an email from Paul Durham of Black Lab announcing how they’re back. Another one of my favorite bands that’s been in a bit of limbo for a while now as far as record companies go. They haven’t “officially” released a CD since the nineties probably but they’ve somehow managed to get me to buy several of their interim CDs over time. Today I bought another one, See The Sun. You should too. These guys make some good music.
Twas a good day today. Makes me miss playing out with the band. Dan/Jay, reunion? :)
